Gibson '67 ES-330 Hot Rodding

The Gibson ES-330 basically is a thinline hollowbody guitar with dogear P-90 pickups.

In comparison its brother the ES-335 is a twin humbucker semi-hollowbody instrument.

Over the weekend we got this ES-330 in for repair. In the past the instrument was hot rodded with two Dimarzio pickups, had bad pots, a plastic nut, a bad bridge, ... In short : it needed a decent upgrade.

So we gave it a good Groove Street treatment !

We restored the instrument with original Gibson parts except for the electronics.

Since the instrument was badly upgraded with Dimarzio humbuckers and replacing with original dogear P-90 would leave too many scars visible we decided to replace these Dimarzio's with aged nickel Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday humbucking pickups and original CTS pots.

The owner picked up his instrument from the shop today and was very satisfied with the work done. He is happy and so are we.
